I see that the power in the dark port goes below zero at the dark port in the given plot, however I am not getting any negative values? is it just an offset or am I missing something?
The power we are getting at the dark port is of the order Watts, not microW. If we change any parameters like the radius of curvatures or the lengths of the cavities, this affects the stability of the cavities as well as mode matching and that is why it’s not desirable to tweak these paramters […]
We are trying to get the parameters of the PRC so that it is mode matched with the FPMi. But there are so many parameters that need to be considered at once here. Is there a way to determine them numerically or on paper and not by iterating over all the variables? Iterating over them […]
We have arrived at the round trip Gouy phase of -35 degrees. Is this supposed to be different for +35 degrees or, since it is a phase difference, it doesn’t effect our system much?
I tried to optimise the power in the PRC in the plane wave approximation by varying the total length of the cavity and I am getting peaks at somewhere around 321m and 304m. Now, as I understand it, these are peaks are where both the 9MHz and 45MHz side bands are resonant. Do we use […]
In the notebook MichToLigo, a homodyne detector was used to measure the quantum noise limited sensitivity. And that’s where squeezing was used to reduce the quantum noise. However, in the notebook MichelsonSensitivity, the command qnoised was used to measure the quantum noise limited sensitivity. Which one of these methods should we use to find the […]
While injecting a signal into the Michelson’s arms do we need to use fsig for the thickness of the lens and other lengths in and the X and Y arm.
How is the power recycling cavity length defined? There are so many optical elements in the PRM block.
